Redefining Healthy

Healthy doesn't have a look. We can all work on improving our health behaviors regardless of our weight, size, or shape. In fact, real health is rooted in those changes that so often go unnoticed by the naked eye. It's that long lasting and sustainable "feel good" value as opposed to the short lived and difficult to upkeep "look good" facade.

Shifting our Definition of Health

I am on a mission to redefine health and change the way we take care of ourselves and our communities by incorporating more layers to the health equation. Currently, when we think about “health” the words nutrition and exercise are what come to mind. An image even pops into our heads of what “healthy” looks like. The reality is that our current definition misses some important components: mental, emotional, spiritual, relational, and social wellness. In fact, much of what we consider “wellness” is problematic and a disordered way of taking care of ourselves (I’m looking at you diets and so-called lifestyle changes). Taking these gaps into mind, my practice is rooted in breaking down these social constructs and co-recreating an intuitive, holistic, and self-determined version of health. If this how you like or would like to show up in the world, let's get to redefining, together.

Our work together

I’m all about deconstructing concepts, language, social standards and systems in order to co-create meaningful change rooted in real holistic health. This collaborative approach means we’re both experts. I’ve got the tools and the know-how, you’re the expert of your life and what works or doesn’t work. Together we’ll walk through mental health, career, nutrition, exercise, sleep, relationships, body image, self-esteem, etc. The most important factor for success in therapy and coaching (there’s science to back this up) is the relationship between client and service provider. Feeling heard, seen, understood are the foundations for meaningful and sustainable change. We'll work on exploring the relationships we have with ourselves, those closest to us, social constructs and expectations, even our food/sleep/exercise etc.
